Our Bespoke Quality Assurance Scheme
15/06/2021
At A S Ramsay we believe it is vital to keep our clients and their residents informed throughout any building project we undertake. Over the years, we have honed the way in which we monitor the works on site, and proactively communicate with the project team and property managers to ensure they are kept up to date with what is going on. Many leaseholders and their tenants may have legitimate concerns about excessive noise, dirt, debris, scaffolding and damage to the environment. It is also a common complaint that they are unaware of what is going on at the properties they live in.
The Red Scheme allows us to keep everyone up-to-date with what we’re doing, how long it’s likely to take, what we’ve completed so far, what instructions are required, where we are financially, and what impact our presence is having on those in the locality.
Our Operations Managers visit our sites at least weekly to monitor the site performance and the quality of our installations. They produce a report which is compiled and included in a monthly pack to Contract Administrator for distribution. This pack comprises:
- Site Managers Monthly Progress Report (setting out what has been done, what is due next month, what instructions are required, and any other points of note).
- The weekly Quality Assurance Inspections undertaken by our Operations Manager.
- Updated program.
- Financial update and Application for Payment.
- Resident update letter.
Jamie Godman, Director at A S Ramsay believes “It’s vital to keep those affected informed at all times. The contractor must take these into consideration at every stage. Ignore these complaints and property managers, freeholders and contractors could face angry residents and irreversible damage to their reputation”.
He added: “Opening channels of communication with residents in such a transparent way has actually benefited the company. With such regular reporting, we’re not only aware of what element might be frustrating residents, we can also measure and monitor our activities and make informed decisions about the project while work is in progress”.
At A S Ramsay our aim is to give residents peace of mind and to assure them that we take their concerns and our overall social responsibility very seriously. This connects the project team to the residents, and demonstrates the value of the work that we are doing to the property.
